God has commissioned us to bring the gospel to the nations and Camp David International is doing that through camping ministry.
The power of camp ministry is the community that is created in a week- a place to be silly, have fun, laugh, cry, and share your stories. No matter what food you eat or what language you speak, when you feel like you belong, you can open your heart to understand God more. This is how transformation begins around the world- reversing the cycle of crime and setting captives free from the power of darkness.
Camp David International began in 2017 with our first International camp in Uganda, Africa. The camp impacted the lives of 120 children of prisoners ages 4 to 18, and was such a tremendous blessing both to the ministry we partnered with and our Camp David team, that we knew we wanted to do this again! Since then, God has been opening doors and connecting us to other ministries around the world who are serving children of prisoners and other very at-risk children.
August 15-27, 2024 – Uganda, Africa.
We are excited to invite you to join us in bringing love and hope in Uganda, Africa! We are partnering with Wells of Hope in Uganda, as a team serving under Camp David International and Jewel Warriors.
We have two ministry opportunities on this trip:
1. Camp David Uganda– Grace Smith will be leading the team in serving at the camp in support roles, while Mercedes Bailey-Rhodes RN, BSN will be leading in a medical outreach during the camp. Together we will love on the children and encourage the national leaders and give lots of smiles and hugs.
2. Jewel Warrior Conference/Prison Ministry– after the camp, the women on our team will join the Jewel Warrior Conference and serve on the team there. The men in our group will join Wells of Hope in doing prison ministry and touring some of their ministries.
Cost: Approx: $3,500 each person. This includes your airfare, food, and lodging in Uganda. It does not include your vaccines, passport or visa costs, or your own personal shopping.
There is a $25 application fee with this form. Once we have this filled out, we will send you an acceptance packet with more information.
The first milestone of approx. $1,700 is due May 15, 2024 for your airfare (This is subject to change) Your second milestone of $1,800 is for in-country ministry and costs, which is due August 1, 2024. If you join our team after June 15th, the airfare cost may go up significantly.
